Raspberry-Redcurrant Jam

Our raspberries and redcurrants, like so many of our people in Alaska, are barely domesticated, the bushes gone to thickets.  These redcurrants come from Annie and Paul's garden where they have happily soaked up long summer days of sun for more than 15 years.  The raspberries are half-wild, small and intense.  The trick is to cook the raspberries just enough to keep them whole and suspended, like constellations, in a garnet currant sky.
